Signal

Signal is an optional reporting platform for stations that run on Radio Workflow: the classic traffic, billing and receivables reports, printed and exported from your Radio Workflow data, with a revenue forecast, a dashboard and a morning brief beside them. Radio Workflow works the same with or without it. Signal reads your Radio Workflow data and never changes it, and when something needs changing, it links you to the right place in Radio Workflow.

Reports

Reports is Signal's report desk: the classic traffic, billing and receivables formats, each previewed on screen before it is printed or saved.

  • Choose before it adds up. Narrow a report by station, revenue type, account rep or customer, and the choice is applied before anything is totalled, on every report whose data carries it.
  • Group and subtotal. Sort on up to three levels, with a heading and a subtotal for every group, and a page break between groups when you want one.
  • Periods by name. Choose a named period, such as Month to date, Last quarter or Next 12 months, or set your own dates.
  • Last year beside this year. Comparative reports put the same period last year alongside and show the change.
  • Memorize a format. Save a report exactly as you set it up and bring it back from any browser. Only the settings are saved, never the figures.
  • Print, export or send. Print a report, download it as a PDF, export it as CSV or text, or have it emailed to you on a schedule.

Beside the reports

Signal opens on the Revenue forecast: whether the month makes budget, and the named accounts and proposals that would close the gap.

Today shows the morning brief, your personal agenda of follow-ups, three ranked priorities, the changes Signal measured, and booked and cash figures shown separately so one is never mistaken for the other.

Dashboard gives the fuller overview, organised into revenue and cash, sales and team, and inventory.

Revenue, Unpaid invoices and Airtime inventory have charts and links straight to the matching account or report in Radio Workflow. From an account row you can start a watchlist entry. Further pages cover sales, accounts and the sales team, airtime, and billing, from the sales pipeline and contract renewals to credit risk and write-offs.

Needs attention lists the conditions in your business that want a look, with the evidence for each, and lets you acknowledge one or open an investigation from it.

The morning brief

A brief is prepared for you each morning, at the time you choose, and works as a loop:

  1. Read the brief. It waits for you on Today.
  2. Investigate a priority. Open whatever the brief flagged and ask about it.
  3. Record a follow-up. Keep a private note of what you decided or want to check on.
  4. Come back and see what changed. The next brief measures what moved since last time.

Daily brief keeps every stored brief, with the changes each one measured and the trends over time. You can also generate a brief on demand.

Asking questions

Ask Signal answers questions about your stations using your Radio Workflow data. It reads; it never changes anything. When an answer needs acting on, Signal links you to the right place in Radio Workflow to do it.

  • Conversations are saved, searchable by title, and private to you in that workspace.
  • You can turn any saved answer into a follow-up, with your own note and a review date kept separate from the answer itself.
  • Signal handles one question from you at a time. If you are asked to wait, your draft is kept so you do not have to type it again.

Follow-ups

My follow-ups holds your private commitments and your watchlist, each with an optional review date, plus a decision log of what you have completed. You can filter by what is due now, upcoming or undated, and search your titles and notes. Your follow-ups are yours alone: nobody else in the workspace sees them.

Settings

Choose the time your brief is prepared and your timezone, or pause the brief and resume it later.

Access

Signal opens to Radio Workflow accounts with sales manager, business manager, administrator or super admin access, because its reports cover a station's revenue, cash and receivables. It checks that access on every page, not once at sign-in. If you can sign in to Radio Workflow but Signal says you do not have access, ask your Radio Workflow administrator to give your account one of those roles.

If your Radio Workflow login belongs to more than one workspace, Signal asks which one you want. Everything you keep in Signal, from briefs to conversations to follow-ups, belongs to you in that workspace.

Because Signal uses your Radio Workflow password, changing or resetting it on Radio Workflow changes it for Signal too.

For developers

Signal can issue read-only API keys for a workspace, usable over REST or from an AI assistant, with a reference inside the product. See Building on our products.
